Our Fight

Liberty Utilities has proposed 25-30 miles of new transmission power lines disregarding existing easements for stockholder value instead of rural Missouri farmers and citizens. Take a look at the proposed map from Liberty Utilities to the right and you will see how they want to cut through the heart of Newton County with disregard to the existing easements, the ecology, and the economy of Newton County and the local area. We stand with Missouri landowners to stop unnecessary transmission lines and defend local control.

An expansive Missouri farmland stretching to the horizon, with meticulously plowed dark soil and alternating bands of bright green crops forming bold geometric patterns. A single, sturdy wooden fence line runs diagonally through the frame, separating intact fields from a distant row of tall steel transmission towers fading into the background haze. Captured in crisp photographic realism at golden hour, warm sunlight grazes the furrows and weathered fence posts, casting long, assertive shadows. Shot from a slightly elevated eye-level perspective using the rule of thirds, the composition emphasizes the land’s vastness and vulnerability. The sky is a deep, saturated blue with a few dramatic clouds, creating a determined, protective atmosphere that feels bold and unwavering.

Protect Missouri Landowner Rights

  • Permanent land damage

A 150 foot right of ways rob landowners of control over their own property — permanently.

  • Property value decline

Studies show properties near high-voltage lines lose 10–30% of their value.

  • Rate increases

Customers pay for transmission projects through higher utility bills for power that goes elsewhere.

  • Future industrialization

Transmission lines attract data centers, battery storage, and other industrial uses that follow the power.

Across rural Missouri, private farms and homesteads are being targeted for high voltage transmission routes chosen by distant corporations, not neighbors. When projects override local zoning and ignore landowner consent, they threaten property rights, safety, and our way of life.
